A free agent linebacker who contributed to two runs to the NFC Championship Game is heading back to his home state.
Adam Schefter of ESPN cites a tweet by Julius Peppers' agent saying that Peppers is heading back to home to Carolina to play for the Panthers.
He played there for the first eight seasons of his career before becoming a Chicago Bear. He played in the Windy City for three seasons.
The Packers signed him in 2014 as a free agent. In those years, he accumulated 25 sacks, 10 forced fumbles and two interception returns for touchdowns.
Peppers grew in North Carolina and also attended the University of North Carolina, where he played football and basketball.
